Dec. 28, Thoughts on Sunday
Yesterday represented the last time we would worship together as a church in 2009. Some thoughts on the day:
* I have really enjoyed changing worship from the beginning of the service to the end.
* With this change it seems as if people have been involved a lot more.
* Tim and the band did an awesome job once again.
* Finishing with, "It is Well" was awesome.
* Personally, I will miss singing Christmas songs.
* We finished X-mas, putting Christ back into Christmas talking about John the Baptist.
* Many don't realize what a vital part of the Christmas story John plays.
* Encouraged everyone to do a food pantry box. Let me encourage you one more time. Bring a box of food for the less fortunate in our community.
* Had the chance to speak to several visitors. Usually don't see many visitors on this particular Sunday. Great to meet them.
* Challenged every born again believer to make the year 2010 a year of action. Need to quit talking about and do.
* Kid Zone was rocking as usual. Amazes me just how many children come to 5 Point.
* Really glad they worship in their theater while adults worship in another. Love kids, but can you imagine 150 plus kids sitting among us as we try and worship. WOW!
* Everyone was given some "Ugly Truth" invitation cards. Please try and hand all of them out this week. January 10th is going to be an amazing day, I promise you.
* Had a pastor friend worship with us today from Mississippi. We went out to eat and talked church stuff for a couple hours.
* I am so thankful to be the pastor of 5 Point.
Some other thoughts:
* Just finished planning this week and the first week of Ugly Truth. WOW! We have some incredible stuff planned.
* 2010 is going to be a year of action for 5 Point. Were going to do more and quit talking about it.
* Can't wait to see a bunch of people baptized this week.
* Working on my goals for 2010, personal and church related.
* Having dinner tonight with my family and mother n law at Silver Bay
* Enjoyed watching my tigers beat a SEC team. Tired of hearing that a ACC team can't beat an SEC team.
* Really try and invite people the next couple of weeks. Most people who are unchurched know they need to be in church and plan on trying to attend once the new year begins. The new year is here. Take advantage.
* Christmas stuff is coming down tonight. YES! I hope every bit of it is in the attic before I go to bed.
