Nov 16, Thoughts on Sunday
Really enjoyed yesterday. Had a lot of fun teaching on the vision of our church. We answered the question, "Who are we trying to reach?"
* Enjoyed our time of worship in both services. I could sing Glorious One every Sunday. Seriously!
* Corey did a great job with the vision video. He and I spent all day last Monday driving around town taping. Just shared my heart about the people of our city. So many who do not know Jesus.
* I used the video of Renatus leading us in Jesus Paid It All again. And it was just as powerful.
* I"m convinced we have done a good job of reaching some portions of our city, but its time to reach all of this city.
* We had well over 100 more people on this Sunday than last year at this time. Yet we took in less money and that breaks my heart. Why? Shows our people still aren't trusting in Jesus but in the God of money.
* Kid Zone had 220 yesterday. That is a bunch of kids hearing about Jesus.
* The youth had 100 last night. Haven't talked to Dwain this morning to see if any teens come to know Jesus.
* Had three different people introduce themselves as first time visitors and share just how much they loved it. That is great.
* Renatus text me yesterday and shared that they had 122 people at 5 Point of Tabora and two gave their life to Jesus. That jacks me up
for two reasons. First, two more Africans came to know Jesus. Second, God is using our efforts here to reach people that far away.
* As everyone left yesterday I encouraged you to invite people who aren't just like you to church this week. Please do it.
Some other thoughts:
* I weighed myself this morning. I am the lightest I've been in Pickens County. But, still have some more to go to hit 280.
Weigh in with the camera tomorrow morning. Really need to have a great day today. Thanksgiving is almost here.
* Praying through some really tough stuff. There are some things I love about Pastoring but other stuff I HATE!
* Wrote an article for the Easley Progress last Friday and will continue to do so on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Check it out and let me know what you think.
