Nov 9, Thoughts on Sunday
Another incredible day at 5 Point. Some of my thoughts on the day:
* People stood and gave their life to Jesus. Makes all we do worth it.
* A lot of first time visitors.
* Spoke with several as they were eating a hot dog after the second service and they loved it.
* By the way, that was really the Clemson Tiger. his suit was still a little wet from Saturday.
* The kids loved having him hang out with them. A LOT of pictures taken before and after both services.
* Worship was incredible. I love singing How Great Thou Art old school and beefed up some.
* Corey did a great job with the intro videos. Clemson and USC pre-game entrance. People had a lot of fun with that.
* But when it was time to get serious and talk about which team who would live for, Jesus or the world, felt like people were locked in and taking in every word. Decisions were made and life change took place. Love it!
* We will baptize again on January 3, 2010. "New Beginning" Sunday. Taking Lords Supper that day also.
* We had a bunch of people out sick and still had a big crowd. Second service was packed.
* Would be great if some of you would start attending the first service. Give us some empty seats for the second.
* Kid Zone was rocking. Close to 200 today. And that is with a bunch of regulars out sick.
* Thanks to everyone who stayed after and helped clean up the mess from cooking and eating all those hot dogs.
Some other very important thoughts:
* Tim and Corey are leaving this evening for Arkansas. Attending a conference on technology. We're about to step it up around here.
* Corey and I are leaving soon as I finish this to begin shooting a vision video for this Sunday.
* We'll be answering two questions the next couple of weeks:
1. Who are we trying to reach?
2. How will we reach them?
* Please pray for me about some very important decisions. Meeting with several people today about the cost of starting our teen center. Our teens deserve every penny we can spend on them. Just want to make sure I'm in the center of God's Will and not Dean's.
* Seeking God's direction on how to lead our people away from serving self and serving Christ.
* The X-mas series is going to be another challenging one. We'll be discussing how to put Jesus back into Christmas. Each week we'll be challenged to do something different for others in our community. I'm hoping Jesus will be the reason for the season here.
* Clemson should be playing for the ACC championship. Finish strong Tigers.
* Then on November 28th is the state championship. Should be a good one.
* Have a great week everyone and do something radical for Jesus.
* Oh yeah, invite someone to 5 Point this Sunday. I can promise you its gonna be good.
