Aug 14, What is wrong?
I want to just vent for a moment today. Share some stuff I'm furious about. You may not even care or agree and that is fine:
1. Why all this uproar about Michael Vick? You do understand he killed a dog, not a human? Before you go whack-o on me, understand I happen to believe a human is more important because they have a soul. Because of that soul Jesus died for humans, not dogs. I do not condone what Michael did, but it was a dog. NFL players get women pregnant, pay for abortions and that is no big deal. Right now, a NFL player is in the media for killing a person while driving drunk, but no big deal. What is wrong with this picture?
2. Pastors all across America are so fat they can barely walk from their office to the pulpit, but that isn't wrong. They talk about other addictions as being wrong, but being obese is alright. What is wrong with this picture?
3. I am an American. I was born here, lived here all my life and never asked anything from the system, yet continue to pay into the system weekly. Yet, when my children go to college I can't get one American dime to help me. I am putting a son through college and have not received any help. Yet, someone who has never been to America, never paid into the system and has no intention of helping can get 100% of their education paid for from my tax dollars. What is wrong with this picture?
4. People fill our churches every Sunday and claim to know Jesus. Claim to be a follower of Jesus. Yet they do not attend worship but once or twice a month (if nothing better comes up) never serve anyone or anything but themselves, give nothing financially to Christ and live however the heck they want. But they are Christ followers? What is wrong with this picture?
5. We can't have God in our schools but we wonder why our school system is failing. We wonder why students are shooting students and teachers are sleeping with students. What is wrong with this picture?
6. Churches all over America that are run by a group of men (called deacons) who do not serve or give to the church and think there job is to "keep the pastor under control." Then they wonder why the pastor can't grow the church? What is wrong with this picture?
7. Why do parents not understand that being your child's friend is not what you've been called to do. They have friends. They need Godly parents show them how to live a life pleasing to Jesus Christ and not someone who wants to just hang out. And then when the kids go completely nuts parents can't understand why. What is wrong with this picture.
8. Marriages are falling apart every day in every church with money being one of the primary reasons. So what do most people do when their marriage is in trouble but go buy more stuff because stuff will make them happier. More stuff and more debt will not bring happiness into a marriage. Then as the marriage ends in divorce your asking what happened. Please help me understand what is wrong with this picture.
9. Moms buy their teen age girls Cosmopolitan magazine not realizing (or if they continue to buy it because they don't want to upset their friend, the teen age daughter) it is nothing but medium porn. It describes how to have oral sex in great detail. It teaches beautiful teen age girls how to have the ultimate orgasm. It tells them how to dress like a whore and when our girls follow their directions we wonder why they are having sex by the age of 13 and pregnant by 16. Then they get an abortion and are messed up for life.
What is wrong with this picture?
10. Last but least, I don't understand how people who say they love Jesus Christ and want to grow closer to him and find the center of His will for their life can never read the Holy Word of God. Maybe a day or two if the schedule allows. I can't imagine not talking to Deb. I love her and want to be with her everyday. But when it comes to God, hanging out with him every now and then is alright.
America, were not fooling anyone but ourselves. Instead of asking, what is wrong with this picture why don't we begin painting a new picture?
