MAy 11, Thoughts on Sunday
Sunday was one of those days that we won't see the effects of for a while. Will people really begin to love Jesus by serving others? Do people have a true burden for the hurting and lost? Time will tell. I do know this, had a larger than normal amount of people tell me that was a message directed straight at them. But, lets be honest, when it comes to serving others verses being served, that is for everyone of us.
Some thoughts about the services:
* Andrea was scheduled to sing. She was at practice but became very sick right before the 9:30 service. Band did a great job of
making some changes and doing a great job.
* Singing, Jesus paid it all in the middle of the message was really cool.
* Spoke with out notes for the first time. Will continue to do so. Only notes I had were what was on power point next.
* Attendance was great for being Mothers Day.
* Traditionally our people go to church with their Moms.
* Close to 200 again in the Kid Zone.
* Worship had a great feel to it. People seemed to be getting into it more.
* I spoke too long in the first service. Causes confusion between services.
* No salvations last two weeks but messages haven't been geared at salvation but serving.
* Had a lot of people try and serve others last week. Way too go guys.
* Went outside and watched greeters. Doing a great job.
* Actually had someone tell me this morning that his daughters had been greeted too much. I love it. I want people to know they
are welcome here.
* Several people gave me money to feed the lepers colony. Still need some more.
* Had more in the first service this morning than last week.
* Spoke to several first time visitors.
* Love this church and the great things happening.
Some other thoughts:
* Were looking for someone who can flat tear up a key board. Our former key board player had a difference in vision and decided to
leave. That was probably best but that does leave us with out a key board player. If talented enough and interested let us know.
Now please hear me, if you aren't that good don't bother calling or e-mailing. Save us the time of hurting your feelings.
* If you know of someone who is really good, let us know.
* 19 days until Africa. God already working on me about what to speak and teach on.
* Can't decide if I should get all the shots they want us to get before leaving. You wouldn't believe how expensive they are.
* Have a leadership meeting tonight. Love seeing new leaders being developed.
* Getting ready to start staff meeting. These guys are doing such a great job.
* Thank you to all those that went to New Spring Saturday night. It was awesome to worship there and for our people to see where
were headed. Thank you so much New Spring.
* Thought about Mom a bunch yesterday. Gotta call Grandma today and let her know how much I love her.
* Don't forget we have baptism in two weeks. What a great way to start worship by baptizing a bunch of people.
* JOE SANGLE will be here this Sunday and Wednesday. Male every effort to be here and bring a friend.
