May 8, Africa

I'll be leaving in 22 days headed to Tabora, Tanzania which is located on the east side of Africa in the same region as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda.  Unemployment runs high as they are basically an agricultural society. During the rainy season, many families (especially orphans, widows and lepers) are hungry.   The average family lives on about $300 a year according to some sources.  Many children are orphaned due to AIDS/HIV.  In the school near The Good Hope Center, 60 children are orphaned.  Malaria is also a real concern for the people of Tabora. Tabora is a small town surrounded by rural areas.

Here are some pictures of the area I'll be ministering in:

A typical home

Woman with leprosy.  Notice her feet.

Before this trip can become a true success I need several things:
1. A little more support.  I promise you all money will be used to train pastors to reach people for Jesus and to lead people to Jesus.
2. A JVC video camera.  Someone just haul off and buy the thing for me.  The missionary in Africa needs it.  Camera cost less than what a lot of the people in Africa make in a year.
3. $700.00 for the lepers.  This will feed them for a month.
4. A LOT of PRAYER!  I'm already  a little nervous.  Never taught with a translator.

I plan on sharing my heart every night if able.
