April 22, Vision Casting

We have one of the biggest days we've had thus far at 5 Point coming up on Saturday, May 9th.  We will be meeting at the campus of New Spring in Greenville.  You may be wondering why meet at New Spring on a Saturday evening?  Great question.  Let me explain.

As many of you know we've shown a lot of interest in buying the Wal-Mart building and land in Easley.  In fact, I have met with the owner personally and spoken with him several times.  The location would be perfect!  Perry Noble (pastor of New Spring) and I are friends and he has graciously agreed to let us use thier Greenville campus for a worship/vision casting service.  Our band will play and lead in worship and I'll share vision like never before on that evening.  Following the service we will show everyone the children's facility.  The reason for this event, pictures are worth thousands of words.  If you can see how New Spring took a Bi-Lo and renovated it into an incredible worship facility it will allow you to see what we desire to do at Wal-Mart or another building.  If you love 5 Point and have bought into the vision God has burnt into my heart, please make plans to attend.

Some other thoughts:
* The staff and I will be leaving tomorrow afternoon for a staff retreat.  We'll be discussing plans for the future.
* Sunday is finished.  Gonna be good.  Make sure you are here and bring a friend.  Plan on being challenged.
* Just found out today the motor in Deb's 2000 jeep is shot.  Thousands of dollars to be repaired.
* I absolutely love this weather.
* Sunday after next the meat of the message is already done.  I can promise you it will be one of the most challenging messages I've
taught.  God is really working on me on how to win this city.
* We had a bunch of visitors again this past Sunday.  Keep inviting.  You are our best form of advertising.
* It is going to be beautiful Sunday.  Close to 80 degrees.  Are you going to worship the sun or the SON?
* Africa is getting close.  Booking tickets this week.  Can't wait!
* Several people have asked me about twittering.  Let me set the record straight.  I ain't doing it.  Only a handful of people actually
care what I do during the day.  I don't read twitters and don't plan on doing one.
* Heading over the the Renner's home group this evening.  Should be a lot of fun.
* Deb and I will be starting our home group again week after next.
* Reading two books right now: Leading on Empty by Wayne Corderio and Crazy Love by Francis Chan.  They are ripping me apart.
* Enough for now.  Have a meeting in a few minutes.
