April 7, Easter Weekend
Can you believe Easter weekend is here? Hard to believe with it spitting snow in Clemson as I write this. I ate lunch across the street from the church with my family and walked back. Didn't have a coat and I was shivering before I got here. Regardless of the weather, Easter weekend is here and it is a big weekend for us. We have incredible momentum going into this weekend. Read this e-mail I received today on my blog.
Hi!
I just wanted you to know that-for the first time - (which is sad it has taken so long) I have been able to invite people to church!! I am really excited about it! I have been handing out cards at work and talking about the Egg Drop. It is amazing how God opens doors with a fly away hot air balloon! Someone told me this morning that they are definitely coming and they are bringing their spouse and kids too - I don't think they go anywhere so this made me REALLY excited! Thank you for the egg drop and the Messy cards - they have really helped me to be able to invite people!
The cool thing as Pastor is that people are really starting to get it. So many have begun to realize that church isn't about just us but about bringing others to Christ. On Easter weekend unchurched people are more willing to attend church than any other Sunday of the year. So, take advantage of it and invite like you've never done before.
Don't forget we're asking all our regulars who can to come and worship with us on Saturday evening at 6:30 pm. The only difference is that we'll have an extended time of worship. The Kid Zone will be operating at full speed and message will be exactly the same as Sunday morning. So bring the entire family. Invite some folks who might be doing something else on Sunday.
A few things to remember for Sunday morning:
* Please park across the street or behind Robinson funeral home. We'll need the parking spaces. Do not park in theater lot.
* Love on people. Look for visitors, not friends. Just a smile and hand shake goes a long ways.
* Sit in the front and towards the middle. Leave best seats for visitors.
* In between the services keep the foyer area moving. Very possible we'll have over 1,000 people come through our doors.
we gotta keep the traffic moving.
* Please make sure you are in your volunteer position a little earlier and with a bigger smile than usual.
* Love on people.
* If we run out of seats, stand or sit in folding chair.
* If you have children, let guest pick up their children first.
* Allow visitor to have an awesome experience.
* Please pray for me as I prepare this week. I want God to give me the exact words.
* Pray for salvations. Pray for life change.
* Can't wait to see what happens this weekend.
Some random thoughts:
* Were not starting Saturday night worship on a regular basis. This is a one time deal for now.
* Yes I know I spelled Margaret wrong in the first service on the board. Yes I know how to spell Margaret. I realized it soon as I did it
but I wasn't going to stop, erase and start over. Numerous people have pointed out I spelled Margaret wrong but didn't notice the
salvations. Keep eyes on the important things
And don't go and get all puffed up about this if you were one that pointed it out.
* Stage looks amazing. Guys steady working on it.
* Went and saw Fast & Furious with Andrew last night. Great movie. Really enjoyed it.
* Plan on swimming 20 laps and riding bike 30 minutes today.
* Can't run right now. Knee swollen for some reason. First tri is in April. Need to run at least four times a week.
* Praying about another full time hire.
* As we grow we gotta hire more staff. Begging God for wisdom and guidance. Want every hire to be His will.
* Have been praying hard about another building. The Colony has been good to us but were outgrowing it, especially in kids area.
* I won't go to a third service until we are completely out of seats.
* A crowded auditorium brings a high level or energy.
* Enough for today. I catch myself writing too much. So much going through my head.
