February 2, Thoughts on Sunday

We finished our "What If?" series yesterday and what a way to finish.  Here are a few thoughts on the day:

* Best news of the day, 9 people gave their life to Jesus.  There is nothing that jacks me up more about a Sunday morning.
* Worship was incredible.  Daniel and Tim did a fantastic job.  I'm convinced Jesus was pleased.
* Jeremy gave up his position on the drums and sang.  Did awesome.
* Didn't realize just how many people are dealing with forgiveness issues.  I was blown away by the number of Christians
who have a hard time forgiving others.  But, God worked on their hearts yesterday.
* So many tears, so much pain, but healing took place.  Life change is what we're all about.
* Singing East to West at the end of the message was awesome for me.  Tried to focus on Jesus and just how much
forgiveness He has given me.  Towards the end of the song I looked into the audience and could see so many people
feeling the same sense of thankfulness.
* I love seeing so many faces I've never seen before.
* 5 Pointers, we gotta get out of the foyer area earlier.  So congested people are having a hard time getting into auditorium.
We need to take the conversations into the auditorium.  This will allow more room for the visitors as they arrive.  What a
   great problem to have.
* Saw Michelle in the balcony.  Good to see her back already.  She plans on being here this week and on Sunday.
The Kid Zone volunteers rock.  Every week they teach children about Jesus. We couldn't do what we do without them.
* Stepped outside between the services and saw so many people coming in with volunteers loving on them.  That jacks me up.
* I went long again the first service and it was a little congested in Kid Zone with parents picking up kids and others bringing for the
second service.  There is no solution for this but another building or the preacher landing the plane earlier.  We need to
look for another building.  Better luck here.  If people would quit getting saved we'd get done earlier.  May this never happen!
 * Attendance was awesome.  The Kid Zone will bust 200 this Sunday and we'll hit an all time attendance record.  Invite, invite
and invite some more.  We start our women series "Fabulous this Sunday.  I promise you is going to be amazing.
* Went over to the Middletons to watch the Super Bowl.  Had a blast.  Ate way too much!  Enjoyed having the evening off.

Some other thoughts:
* 25 people went through our new members class Friday night.  Several were already serving Sunday morning.
I always enjoy teaching that class.  Get to know so many people.  We'll be having another one next month.
* During the class several people commented on how this felt like the first church they had attended that they felt at home.
Everyone agreed that it was the friendliest church they had ever attended.  Great job 5 Point people.  Keep up the good work.
* We have to dedicate an entire service to baptism in a few weeks.  Were already making plans to make it very relevant and
creative for all.  Love having to baptize so many people.
