January 29, Power of Prayer

A friend and faithful participant of 5 Point sent me this devotion she had this morning.  Please take a minute and read it.

Isaiah 55:11
so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the
purpose for which I sent it.

WORDS WILL PROSPER
The words that we speak will produce positive or negative results.  They will carry out the assignment that we send them on.
What if every word you spoke out your mouth instantly materialized?  That would probably cause people to think before they speak.

From the beginning of time, words shaped the condition of the world.  Our words and confessions play a big part in our present condition.  Take a minute to examine where you are in your life right now.  What have your words accomplished? Are your words going in the direction of life and prosperity, or death and destruction?  No matter which way they go, they will reach their destination.   All words will prosper, so choose them carefully.

She wrote this after the devotion:

Dean,
We are firm believers in the power unleashed by our words. After all, God spoke the word into existence! I received this daily devotional. We need to get EVERY person at 5 Point to SPEAK our vision for our church. Satan can only act on our words – he
cannot read our minds! So-no more “We’re praying for this or that..” instead, “We are believing and praising God for what is
is going to do in our church.” We have been doing the prayer of agreement (Matthew 18:19) over you, the staff and the future of
5 Point. God is set to bless us mightily and we confess accordingly to His Word that we WILL see a great new location for our
church and will continue to grow and prosper as never before –we praise God and believe we receive!

If I could ask one thing of everyone who attends 5 Point and believes in the vision to turn this city literally upside down for
Jesus, then please pray for me.  Pray as this couple has shared with me.  Believing that God is going to do something God
sized.  Pray for the staff.  Pray for this Sunday because I believe with every fiber in my being something incredible is going to
happen.  Pray for life change to take place.  And come expecting to have your life changed also.
