December 22, Thoughts on Sunday
Thoughts on our December 22nd worship experience:
* 10 people gave their life to Jesus this morning. I could stop right here because this is what we're all about!
* Worship was incredible. Seeing Tim, Daniel and Andrea with just a guitar and one microphone as we sang Silent Night was good
for me. Don't get me wrong, I love our usual style of loud and high energy, but today was a good change. Great job guys!
* Not every Christmas Sunday you'll have Santa & the Easter bunny show up. Then add the tooth ferry flying in from the balcony. That
really did happen!
* 10 salvations-the angels are rejoicing.
* Had our biggest offering ever. Why is it that during a time of economic troubles our offerings continue to raise? Because people
are beginning to believe and trust in Jesus. Great job church. This will allow us to further our vision by getting some badly needed
stuff for our youth and children.
* Attendance in first service was a little down, but the second service was rocking. The children's theater had over 100 in second
service alone. Our children's volunteers rock. Sunday couldn't happen without them.
* Heard a bunch of comments on how much people enjoyed today's service.
* We have close to 50 people wanting to go through the new members class.
* A lot of our own people we're worshiping with other family members or already traveling and we still had a great crowd.
* Had some visitors introduce themselves to me and let me know just how much they enjoyed their first experience at 5 Point.
* Received a comment on my blog form a gentleman who has been here the past two Sundays thanking me for the friendly welcome
has received. Great job volunteers.
* I saw smoke people come in after worship had already started and had to crawl over people to get to the empty seats in the
middle. Please move to the center as you enter. It will only take a couple extra minutes at the end of our services to get out.
* Had a couple leave because they were told I might say something about Santa. I hate that but it is the truth.
* Next week we'll continue Jesus for Dummies with the question, what will Jesus do on his return?
Quick thought:
So many times people come and thank me for all that is happening at 5 Point. As much as I'd love to take the credit, I can't. Without the incredible staff of 5 Point we'd still be limbing along. It's because Ann is so well organized and has such a heart for people. Tim loves leading worship and does a great job. Lawson & Michelle love children and have a true passion to seeing them accept Jesus as their Savior. Burl really wants to see EVERYONE building relationships through our home groups. Dwain wants teens to love Jesus and begin to change their schools. All of them love Jesus, love their families and love this church. As proven Sunday before last, I can miss and this place keeps right on rolling. One of them takes a Sunday off and the slot is a lot tougher to fill. Thank them this Sunday. Pat them on the back. Show your appreciation by letting them know how good a job they're all doing.
