Novemebr 18, Marriage

If you've worshiped with us at 5 Point Fellowship for any length of time you know the burden I have for our married couples.  I am convinced the Christian home and family is Satan's number one attack in America.  Strictly my opinion.  Week after week I see marriages on the verge of divorce.  So, I started a marriage improvement a few months ago.  Have been blown away by the things God has done through this class.  People have walked in off the street and started attending Sunday morning and nights.

But, here is the reality of it.  The people that needed it most, never came or only came a few times.  Those who had good marriages or decent marriages, but wanted to make them better came regularly.

Yesterday evening I spent 2 1/2 hours with a couple that came twice and never returned.  I am sad to say unless God does a huge miracle this marriage is over.  13 years and three kids later, divorce court is right around the corner.  My heart aches at the number of couples struggling with their relationships

But not every marriage is falling apart.  Today I received this e-mail and it jacked me up.

A quick praise report:  I can't tell you what a wonderful gift God game me when He brought ________________ and me together.  There's no doubt in either of us that it was HIS will and He is blessing us both in ways we never thought possible.  The intimacy (yes, I mean SEX!) is like nothing I've ever experienced.  For the first time we are both experiencing the ONENESS God intended between husband and wife.  The feeling goes beyond pleasure and becomes a spiritual experience--one that we've never known previously.
I am awed by the joy I feel--it's something I had never expected or even dared to hope for.  I wanted to share this--mainly because you hear so much of the bad and not enough of the "good"!
Thanks for your intensity, your commitment to God, for your transparency, and for your leadership.
