Novemebr 4, Awesome volunteers
I mentioned yesterday that we set a all time high in attendance this past Sunday. I am convinced that one of the major factors is attributed to Friday night (Halloween). From 5:00 - 8:00 pm we had thousands of people come through our church parking lot and take part in the free rides & blow ups, hot dogs, hot chocolate, pop corn, cotton candy, drinks and bags of candy.
This couldn't have taken place without the incredible group of people that volunteered their time and efforts. We had the evening divided into two time slots but many stayed and served three hours plus clean up. What a great evening of fellowship and ministry combined. Soooooo many people thanked us for giving their children a safe alternative.
I can't tell you how many people actually came Sunday due to our efforts, but I believe we'll see people trickle in for weeks and possibly months to come. When disaster strikes in a persons life and they want a church to attend, people remember events like the one we pulled off Friday night.
I want to personally thank every one of you that helped. Without all of you, this couldn't have been so successful. Can't wait until next year. We plan on doing this bigger and better.
Some random thoughts:
* Played Texas Hold em last night with 5 friends and came in 2nd. Went all in and Chuck got his card on the river.
* Got up early, read my Bible and headed out to vote. It was still dark and the line was out the door. Took one of the
books I'm reading (The Blessed Life by Robert Morris) and read during the 30 minute wait. Praying for God's Will to be done.
* What an absolutely beautiful day. God did good! I love this time of the year.
* Sunday morning is almost done and I'm already working on next week. We'll be answering all the sex questions
combined into one message.
* Never thought I'd see the day in which one of the amendments dealt with the appropriate age of sex. I always
thought the apropriae age was when one married. We need revival in this country.
* I continue to pray for God to burn His vision into my heart. So many good things have happened but there is still so
much to be done.
* Pray with me that God would help us to dream BIG because we serve such a BIG God.
* Saw Christmas decorations out already. I love the holiday season.
* Praying that God will help people understand they've never been saved and will accept Christ this Sunday.
* Great vision has a great cost and right now we're begin held back by finances. All of us need to quit trusting a man to
help the economy and trust God with everything.
* I love serving as the Pastor of 5 Point Fellowship
