October 28, Our staff
George, Chuck (our two elders) and myself had dinner last Thursday evening to discuss our staff and some other things going on at the church. In case some of you don't know all of our staff I wanted to share something about each one:
Tim Winkler
Tim and I have been doing ministry together now for over nine years. He truly has the gift of leading worship. Its easy to stand and teach God's Word after worshiping with Tim. He also does all our video stuff and a lot of computer work. I can't imagine 5 Point without him.
Michelle Clary
Michelle loves children and teaching them about Jesus. We continue to see more and more children. I enjoy hearing parents talk about how much their children love coming to 5 Point. For any church to be successful, they must have a good children's ministry, we do!
Ann Durham
Ann does all of our financial stuff, coordinates the volunteers and anything asked. She is incredible and was an awesome addition eight months ago. She has a true servants heart and loves people. Her smile can be somewhat contagious.
Burl Walker
Burl has taken over our home groups and the porn recovery ministry. Relationships are vital in getting people plugged in. Burl has the heart for this very thing. This may sound a little different, but Burl thinks like I do when it comes to reaching people and growing a church. HE loves Jesus, people and 5 Point.
Dwain Simmons
Dwain has been working with our youth the past three weeks and doing a fantastic job. I've heard nothing but good from the parents and youth. As of now Dwain is part time but I can see that changing very soon. I am so excited about having someone who loves Jesus, loves youth and has a desire to reach as many as possible. His vision and excitement is inspiring.
Richard Gregory
The majority of people have no idea who Richard is. He is the one who comes up with all our graphics for our banners, Sunday morning hand outs, posters etc. Richard is one creative dude. We give him a concept and he comes up with these incredible graphics. You may never see him but he plays a huge role.
Terry Whiteside
Terry has a tough job. He tries to keep this old theater up and going. Terry doesn't clean our theater, he just tries to keep it from falling apart. He also does all the yard work and makes all sorts of props for any of the staff. Terry is another one you may not see much, but life around here would be tough without him.
What none of you see is that this special group of people have to put up with me. It takes a special person to know how to handle Dean Herman and God has surrounded me with some very gifted and patient people.
