Tim's Thought's on Training at Newspring
Hey Guys this is Tim. Dean asked me to share some thoughts about the pastor/staff training that Dean, Ann, and I went to today at Newspring. There was so many things that I could write about that we heard today, but the thing that stuck out in my mind the most was when Perry started talking about Purity among pastors and staff. He said he didn't know why, but it seemed like pastors are falling all around him to sexual temptation, much more frequently than in the past. Listen guys, Satan knows where your weakness is and he will test you every second of the way. While talking about Purity, Perry gave us this list that he calls his 10 commandments of purity. I will use my wife Erica's name, but all you have to do is replace her name with your wife's name: Some people ned more instruction that others! 
1. I will not put any relationship other than Christ in front of Erica(including children)
2. I will remember date night and keep it holy(no cell phones) Erica can take hers for emergencies, but I can't take
mine.
3. I will view Erica through the eyes of Jesus as the standard of beauty in my life.
4. I will never think I am above temptation.
5. I will not spend time alone or travel alone with another woman.
6. I shall not talk about my wife in a negative way.
7. I will never discuss intimate details with anyone(especially women)
8. I shall not watch pornography or expose myself to other illicit materials that would cause me to lust and degrade
Erica to a sex object.
9. I will not confuse fantasy with reality
10. I shall remember the ramifications of breaking the 7th commandment(adultery)
I thought these were some amazing insights on how to affair prove your marriage. He also made the comment that" if you're not alone you can't have sex) meaning that if your not alone with another women you can't have sex.
