October 7, Baptism

Have you ever prayed years for someone?  Have you ever begged God to truly perform miracles in someone's life?  Have you ever wept over a loved one because you knew they didn't know Jesus?  Have you ever rejoiced over seeing a loved one come to know Christ.?

I've experienced all these emotions with my youngest son Jacob.  He'll be ten in two weeks and I had the honor and privilege of baptizing him this past Saturday in beautiful Lake Keowee along with 13 others as a bank full of people watched.

As he was walking into the water I was praising God for reaching down and saving my boy.  We read the Bible and pray together often.  I pray out loud for him by name and beg God to use this boy in an amazing way.  I want him to hear me as I lift his name up to the throne to help him understand that God has BIG plans for him.

I never ever, ever, ever get tired of seeing changed lives.  I never tire of baptizing people.  And I never tire of praising God for all the awesome things he is doing within this church.

And, I will always remember October 4, 2008 as the day God allowed me to baptize my youngest son!
