September 22, Monday morning thoughts
Its 8:00 am on this gloriously beautiful Monday morning. I'm sitting in my lazy boy with Jacob laying on the couch beside me with a 102 temperature. He started feeling bad yesterday and didn't rest well last night. Wanted to share some thoughts running through my head.
* Haven't written in five days. Sorry, been BUSY!
* The staff and elders got away Friday evening so we could discuss the future of 5 Point Fellowship. Spent the night and
continued our discussions through Saturday morning. It was awesome!
* Finished our marriage portion of Thin Ice yesterday. Two incredible services:
a. Good atmosphere yesterday morning
b. Band was rocking
c. Attendance good and a lot of new faces every week
d. Marriage improvement on Sunday nights is working. Couples growing stronger
e. Giving down again. Not sure why.
f. Watching couples make commitments to God about their marriage jacks me up.
g. Good things happening at 5 Point and feel honored to be a part of it
h. Lawson & Michelle (along with every volunteer) do such a good job with our children.
i. Training for the children's workers went well yesterday.
j. We'll be looking at debt next Sunday.
* As Deb was getting ready this morning she walked over and gave me a hug and wished me Happy Birthday. To be
honest I had forgotten it was my birthday. 46 today. God continues to bless me in a multitude of ways.
* Received some really bad news yesterday about some friends. My heart aches for this couple.
* Came home yesterday and rested most of the day. It felt great.
* Nothing better than watching football and the Ryder cup on a Sunday afternoon.
* Spent all day last Thursday at Newspring with 15 other pastors listening to Perry Noble discuss leadership issues.
It was incredible. I learn so much from Perry and these other pastors. Share some thoughts later.
* I hate reading really long blogs, so that is enough for now. Plan on doing a better job of blogging every day.
