September 15, Bunch of random thoughts
Bunch of stuff going through my head right now:
* Thought both of our worship experiences rocked yesterday.
* Wish you could have seen the look on peoples faces when I asked the question about playing pro or college
ball. Only one other besides myself played college ball. Yet, so many Dads coach. Granted, a lot of Dads don't
know the Bible, but they can help their kids just as they do in sports.
* Economy is bouncing everywhere and so are the offerings. Trust Jesus in everything, including your finances.
* Attendance was good yesterday.
* Men were challenged.
* Ladies, looking forward to looking into your life next week.
* We left the Clemson game at half Saturday. Even my underwear was soaking. 2nd half in the A/C.
* Short week this week:
Coaching Network at Newspring with a bunch of other pastors. I learn so much form them.
Staff & elder get away over weekend. So much to talk about and plan for.
Have to prepare Sunday morning, evening and weekend - busy week.
* Today has been about worthless. Read a bunch and thought some. Haven't been able to get into the zone.
* Another couple is going to divorce. I hate hearing this. My heart breaks for people.
* Jacob (my 9 year old) was used greatly by God this morning. Blog about later in week.
* We need a Youth Pastor and more help in children's area.
* Children's theater had 150 combined. That is bigger than 90% of churches in Pickens county. We gotta get
Michelle & the volunteers some more help.
* Want to buy the truss and lights we've had the past couple of Sundays. The stage has looked awesome and
that helps reach the unchurched .
* Marriage improvement was awesome last night. Talked about the one thing women can't do without, affection.
We divided the men and women (Deb took the women and I had the men) and both were in agreement that
husbands are pitiful when it comes to showing affection to their wives.
* Praying for several marriages in our church.
* Gave our people opportunity to ask what questions they want answered in upcoming series. Top four
questions thus far:
1. Can I lose my salvation
2. How can I be sure that I'm saved
3. Divorce
4. Can Christians drink in small amounts
There you have it. We'll give you another opportunity in the next few weeks.
* I'm feeling really old today. I'll actually be 46 in two weeks. But I did lift hard and run two miles this morning.
* 5 Point if four years old. Can't believe it. I can see another blog coming.
* I was supposed to list Deb and my top three needs. Tomorrow. Talking about marriage this week some more.
* I have a meeting about our Africa trip this evening. Having trouble raising enough money for myself and the
materials needed.
And these are just some of the thoughts racing through my head. No wonder I can't sleep at night.
