September 8, Thoughts on Sunday
Sunday was a great day for 5 Point. We started our new series "Thin Ice" and it couldn't of went better. Tim and the band hit a home in leading worship and with the high energy pre music. We spent some money on truss and lights and it was worth every penny. Looking into buying some to keep on the stage. Had countless people comment on how awesome the lights looked.
My heart truly aches for marriages that are on thin ice. I know from experience, if your marriage stinks, life is stinking right along with it. We began our marriage improvement yesterday evening and had a good showing with no advertisement at all. I believe this will only grow.
Michell's, Lawson & all the volunteers did an awesome job once again. Already spoken to several parents who told me their children don't want to go any where else. It great to see kids having fun as they learn about Jesus.
Some more thoughts about the day:
1. Cheer leaders welcome was hilarious
2. A young couple I invited came for the first time. Spoke with them this morning. Not only are they coming back
but are bringing some other friends and starting the marriage improvement.
3. Good to see so any visitors having fun.
4. Our volunteers do an awesome job week in and week out.
5. Home groups are cooking. More people getting involved. Burl Walker doing a great job picking up where
Travis left off.
6. Felt as if people really understood the message.
7. Exhausted. Went home and crashed for a couple hours.
8. Love having pro football on to nap through.
9. Gamecock fans not running mouth and sending me emails this week. Thank goodness!
I haven't said a word to a single one.
10. This Sunday is going to be awesome as we address the man's role in marriage. Some really cool stuff in store.
11. I have poison ivy and it is flat out itching. Scrubbed it with last night with Clorox and it continues bothering
me.
12. Continue praying about Wal-Mart.
13. Some people in our church who want help but aren't willing to help themselves. Don't understand.
14. Asked who would be interested in a weight loss program and had over 50 people sign up. Looks like we'll be
getting that started real soon.
15. Continue praying about some big stuff coming up!
16. Amazed at the life change that has happened at 5 Point.
17. Keep inviting. A lot of people going to hell!
