September 2, Loving life

Sometimes I wonder why God has chose to bless my life in such an awesome way. This picture is a prime example. This is my daughter Michelle, son-in-law Lawson and grand son Hudson, with another grand child on the way. I love these guys dearly. The three of them (soon to be four) bring so much joy into our family.
Michelle does an awesome job with the children of 5 Point. Lawson does so much with the children and shares Jesus with the Clemson football team (he works at Clemson). Hudson is a bundle of joy.
There are times I actually feel guilty for enjoying my life so much. Don't get me wrong, my life has its share of pain and heart ache, but overall, I love life.
The reason for this blog. My heart aches for so many people who do not enjoy life. Their marriage sucks, kids going wild, in debt upto their eyeballs and wondering how they will make next house payment. And so many of these people ask me what should they do?
After years of being in the ministry and dealing with heart broken people, my first response has become:
"Give everything to Jesus, everything!
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
When I share this with hurting people their first response is usually, "I already have." The conversation usually leads into searching their response. Let me finish by asking, have you given Jesus everything:
1. Your marriage - is God the center of your marriage?
2. Your time - I've come to find out what I love is what I spend my time on. Do you read and pray daily?
3. Your eyes - What are you looking at?
4. Your money - Do you tithe? I know this is a sensitive area, but how can God honor you financially if you
refuse to honor him? 99.9% of the time, people hurting financially, aren't tithing.
5. Your kids - If God called your kids to Africa as a missionary, would you cheerfully allow them to go?
6. Your thoughts and dreams - do you open up and share with God?
7. Your job - are you working as if Jesus Christ was your boss?
8. Your ...........................................
I could continue but you get the idea. We must seek God first in everything! And when we do, "all these things will be added to you." I tried life my way and it didn't work. But once I began seeking Jesus first, life has been full of joy.
Michelle just called and I have another grand son on the way. YES SIR!
