May 30, Not so bad

Why is it that any time something happens in life we automatically think the worse.  When someone hears of something (didn't see, just heard) its as if the world just ended.  When people call and ask me to pray for ______
I always tell them, "don't think the worse until we know the worse."  Great advice for myself also.

I recently bought a used (10 years old of used) deck boat.  We had it out this past Monday and I had to run the bilge pump (pumps out water that is coming into boat) every 10 - 15 minutes because if I hadn't the boat would have sunk.  I was furious.  Already thinking bad thoughts about the guy who had sold me the boat.  Planned how I was going to torture him (just kidding, sort of).

We got underneath the boat and couldn't find even a scratch.  Last night I took the boat to a friend in the church and we found the problem.  Long story short, a small, inexpensive piece of plastic had broken allowing the water to pour into the hull of the boat.  Problem solved with a 5 minute fix.

I learned something from this event, "don't think the worse until you know the worse."  Great advice for all of us!

Couple of thoughts:
* Travis held his first home team meeting last night and I've heard it went great
* Sunday is going to be an awesome day
* Lawson and Michelle will be sleeping in their new home tonight.  But that also means Hudman will be sleeping
there.  I've enjoyed having all of them under one roof with us.  Stayed over a month and we never had one
   argument.
* My sister called me and told me she had finally hit rock bottom and gave her life to Christ!  YES!  More on this
   next week.
* Love what GOD is doing here at 5 Point
