Debbie and I have been married for 28 years next week.  Deb has put up with me for over 30 years including dating.  The woman deserves a medal of honor or something.  With it being spring break this week for Pickens County Schools we're going on a little get away.  So, needless to say I won't be writing anything for the next couple of days. 

I know a lot of men read my blog and I want all of us to understand just how important it is to treat our wives well.  Scripture puts it this way:

Ephesians 5:25-28 
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her [26] to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, [27] and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. [28] In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

We as husbands need to remember these words.  Loving our wives to the point of our own death, as Christ loved the church.  WOW! Those are some powerful words.

Men, taking our wives off on a little get away is nice, but they want and deserve our love, attention, respect, help around the house and Godly male leadership.  All of us, myself included, need to be the best husbands and examples we can. 

Finishing thought.  After 28 years of marriage I'm as excited about getting away with my bride this weekend as if it were our first!  Thank you Father God for such a wonderful woman!
