April 3, Blessings
I've been laying in my office floor the past couple hours praying and thinking. Sunday is 110% done, already working on next week and have begun thinking out Pimp My Life. This is going to be one awesome series.
As I was praying (journal my prayers) I wrote an unusually lot in my PRAISE section. Started thanking God for his incredible blessings. I've got to be one of the most fortunate guys in the world.
My blessings
My salvation - I just can't get over this!
My wife. Deb and I will celebrate our 28th anniversary in a couple weeks. I love her more and more every day!
My three children-though not perfect, awesome! Lawson, my son-in-law who I think of as one of my own.
My Grandson-that stinking little fellow has me wrapped around his finger.
My families salvation - can't thank God enough!
Our health-never to be taken for granted.
The safety and protection God provides us.
Our home and the love we have inside it. Can't wait to get home at nights.
The rain that we desperately need.
Friends
The heat blowing on me as I type this.
The incredible staff God has given me.
Vehicles that get me from point A to point B.
America-what an awesome country to live in. She has her problems but I don't want to live anywhere else.
Electricity
The protection our police and fireman give us by picking up the phone.
I actually get some money back this year on my taxes.
A church family that loves their pastor. Well, most anyway!
Our gas prices. Much as we gripe, some of the cheapest in country.
More clothes than I could ever wear.
I could walk down the hall and turn the heat to AC in the switch of a button.
All the books I have to read.
Food in our pantry and fridge.
The Holy Bible that brings me so much joy and satisfaction.
Pastor friends like Kevin Childs, Perry Noble and Gary Lamb that I can ask questions and they're so willing to help.
A rocking band.
I'm telling you right now I could keep right on going but I think you get the picture. So many times we gripe and complain about life when in reality we have got it stinking made. If anything, I, we take way too much for granted.
Random Thoughts
Had dinner last night with a couple I hope will become our youth pastor.
Praying about some BIG stuff for our church.
Having dinner with the band tonight. Want to make a few changes. Love our band.
Looking forward to Orlando in a couple weeks. Great conference scheduled. Cool part. It was 90% paid for.
Read Simple Church. Really making me think about some stuff.
Plan on starting In a Pit with a Lion within next few days.
This Sunday could be one of the coolest worship services 5 Point has ever created.
Begging God for an invitation time that will rock all our worlds.
Softball game canceled tonight due to rain.
Worked out hard and ran two miles this morning. Running finally getting easier. Still hate it.
Doing something I've never done this Sunday, NO NOTES!
I promise you, this Sunday is going to be off the charts. Don't be late.
Enough for now.
