April 1, Awesome Day

I started my morning around 5:30 am as usual.  Headed to my lazy boy and hung out with God by reading and praying until 7:00.  Today is opening day of turkey season  and I've only turkey hunted a few times.  It had been pouring the rain through out the morning and I just wasn't sure about going.  For some reason, not sure what, I grabbed my gun, threw on some camouflage, grabbed a decoy & turkey call and headed out the door.  I had the most amazing day of hunting I've ever had.  I had barely gotten out of my truck and a turkey was gobbling.  It took me and hour and half to get the old boy within shooting distance.  The incredible part is that I had turkeys walking within 10 - 15 feet of me all morning.  As the gobbler finally gave me a shot I was ecstatic.  Only the third turkey I've taken.  He weighed over 20 pounds and had a beard close to eleven inches long.  He gonna taste good in a couple nights.

The moral of the story; there are times when you just don't feel like doing something and it turns out to be an awesome event in your life.  Have you ever felt like not hanging out with God?  I know I have.  And it seems as if those are the days that God makes himself more real than ever.

As I got up this morning I was in a foul mood.  It was chilly and raining and Monday had just been a bad day.  Then for some reason I sit out in the rain for close to two hours and it turned out AWESOME!

As I walked into the office Tim had found the perfect video for Sunday's message.  I have the meat of the message already done and next weeks is already taking shape.  By the way, this Sunday could be one of the most creative in the history of 5 Point.  To be honest, a bad day turned out AWESOME!  Looking forward to what tomorrow holds.

Speaking at Home with a Heart first thing in the morning.  I always enjoy speaking to a bunch of guys who have hit rock bottom and are hungry to hear the Word of God.
