March 3, Thoughts on Sunday

Any time we do a series on MONEY I get a little worried.  People just don't want to hear a preacher talk about their money.  We entitled this series Chasing the Dream because America is consumed with the almighty dollar, including Christians.

We began the series talking about GREED.   Definely a problem for the majority of people, including me.  In my opinion, two of the best services we've had in a few weeks.  I was blown away with the response, with the honesty of people.  Worship was good, the videos-powerful, and God's Word always speaks for itself.

Here are some of the comments:

Visitor – Really enjoyed the message. The church suffers where the pulpit is silent. Talking about $$$$ will help
             people.
Great, this subject is wonderful and it definitely helped me out.
I really enjoyed it!!
Thanks for today’s message…..there was a time we tried to keep up with the Jones…..we talked to Joe Sangle and our hearts and minds are so different, it is amazing….we still struggle….but are being blessed, which makes us want to work harder and give him the glory.
FABULOUS!

One of the coolest things about Sunday was a man gave his life to Jesus.  Go figure!  Talk about being greedy and God changes lives.

We'll continue our series this week as we dive into the topic of debt.  God has already laid some creative elements on my heart.  Jacked up and can't wait to see you here.  BRING A FRIEND!  Every human needs to hear what God says about debt.

Random Thoughts
* I don't get sick often, but the past few days have been tough.  In between services Sunday I laid down on the couch in my office.  Begged God to help me through services.  Went home after second service and slept three to four hours.  Sunday night was awful.  Went to the doctor Monday, but I'm on the up swing.
* Love seeing the rain
* Going to blog about some of my financial experiences (Good and bad) this week.
* Already praying about Easter Sunday.  Please begin praying with me about the service and who YOU can bring.
* Haven't worked out since last Thursday and I can tell.  Going this afternoon to swim and lift.
* Had lunch with one of my former youth in Gaffney today.  His wife cheated on him and he was heart broken.  A good marriage is something to appreciate.  I love Deb for putting up with me, standing behind me and being faithful to Christ and myself.
* Andrew is home for the week on Spring break.  Love having my boys at home.  We're going fishing this weekend.  It might just be a great time of fellowship, but that's ok too.
* We put our house up for sale this week.  In God's hands now.
