February 11, Thoughts about Sunday

It's days like yesterday that keep me going.  The band was rocking as they led us in worship.  Did a great job with I wanna be a rock star.  Thats probably my favorite video we've ever done.  We had baptism and three more individuals gave there life to Jesus Christ.  After the second service a young lady who had been saved gave me a hug.  She then apologized for getting tears and snot on my shirt.  I'll take salvation tears and snot every day.
At the end of the message I asked how many people had made a decision to quit running and over half the people raised their hand.  That pumps me up.  Think of what 5 Point could do if everyone would just follow God's leading.

I can make you a promise right now; I won't lose my Bible again.  I felt completely naked on the stage with out one note or a Bible.  Allow me to share how that happened so you won't think I'm a bigger idiot than I really am.  If you were at 5 Point you know I came out in a suit (that won't happen again either).  I didn't want anyone to see me so I went around back and someone had accidentally locked the door while cleaning up after baptism.  I ran back to the front and got someone to unlock the door.  I barely made it.  It was dark behind the stage and my eyes hadn't adjusted from the sun.  My teaching Bible is black and I never saw it.  Besides me looking like a complete idiot, all went well.

Michelle (minister of children) had a meal and meeting with all the children volunteers.  We have an awesome problem.  The children's worship is over flowing.  Michelle will be starting two services on Easter.  The younger children will be meeting upstairs with the older children in their theater.  I noticed during the meeting there were twice as many women.  Alright men, our children deserve and need men leading them in worship also.  Thank you to every volunteer in the children's area.  Without them, Sunday morning does not exist.

Some random thoughts going through my head right now:
* I can't believe I couldn't find my Bible which held my notes.  I never cease to amaze myself.
* Loving this warm weather.  Washed seven vehicles yesterday.
* The Herman clan has found the home in the country we've been looking for.  Trying to sell ours now.
Started painting and getting ready last weekend.
* Really concentrating on church health which will allow even more church growth.
* Attending two day conference in Georgia next Monday and Tuesday.  Tim, Michelle, Ann and our two elders
(George & Chuck)  will be attending also.  I love and appreciate these people.
* Jacob, my nine year continues to ask about his salvation.  I believe he is ready and I am jacked up.  Something
special about seeing someone you've prayed nine years for coming to know Christ, especially when it's your own
   child.
* New Members class Friday the 22nd.
* Praying through next staff hire.
*  Almost finished with the book Good to Great.  What an awesome book for any leader.
* Every Sunday but one this year one or more people have given their life to Christ.
* I've come to a conclusion after fishing Saturday for 6 hours.  I can't catch fish, I'm sticking with fishing for men!
