February 4, Thoughts on Sunday

Yesterday morning we began our America's Idol series.  We started by showing our very own cheer leaders auditioning in front of Paula, Randy and Simon.  Not sure I've heard that much laughter during a video before.
As we dug into God's Word and discussed running from God I was amazed at how many people admitted they we're actually in the process of running.  We had three more people give their life to Christ, worship was awesome (More people getting involved) and God hit A LOT of people right between the eyes with His Word.  I am literally blown away at what God is doing at 5 Point Fellowship.  Next week we'll be be discussing, The Real You.

I had something happen yesterday that I'm pretty sure hasn't happened during my 15 years of ministry.  We had an expected Mother sitting on the second row of the second service.  I could tell she was somewhat uncomfortable by all her squirming.  No wonder, Ashley Walker gave birth to Saidie Grace this morning at 6:07 am.  Congratulations to Eric and Ashely.  Everyone is doing fine.  Sadie weighed in at 9 pounds and two ounces.  Spoke with Grandpa Garry just a few minutes ago and he assured me all we're doing well.  Thank you Eric and Ashley for coming to worship the eve of your child's birth.

Some other thoughts about Sunday:
* Every Sunday I expect to see life change.  Quit hoping a few months ago.
* Amazed at the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  Love it when people share with me that they've been battling with
the very thing we discussed in the service.  That ain't nothing but God.
* We've got to balance out the two services.  Three times more people in the second service.  To try and help
we're moving our times beginning Easter morning.  Instead of 9:00 & 10:30 we'll be changing to 9:30 and 11:00.
* Looking forward to finding out what song our crowd voted for the band to sing.
* I can't wait for next Sunday as we discuss being real.  So many people change with their environment.
* Lawson and Michelle scare me with their cheer leader impersonations.  That ain't normal.
* Had a ton of visitors this Sunday.  I know several came from Kidz Blitz..
* Speaking of Kidz Blitz - thank you to all who made this event such a huge success.  Any time children come to
know Christ its worth the time, money and effort.
* I didn't get to see the majority of the first half of the Super Bowl.  I was sharing the gospel with a couple at my
house during our home group.  Wouldn't have it any other way.  Our conversation was awesome!  I saw the
second half and fell asleep during it anyway.
* Deb just called and Jacob has a 102 temperature.  He has been battling with this for 5 days now.  I hate it when
my kids are sick.  Thank you Lord Jesus for our health.
