January 29, staff
I've been thinking, praying and talking a lot about staff lately. We need more. Our church has grown to a point that Tim, Michelle and myself need help. One of the areas we desperately need help is in the area of office management.
Close to a year ago I told Ann Durham she'd be my secretary. She laughed and we've kidded about it some over the course of 2007. Ann came to me a month ago asking if I was serious. This is a woman who has been an office manager for years. Has done the finances and payroll for a large company. Someone who has more mercy in her pinkie than I do my entire body. Was the option still open; DUH! Ann has resigned and will become our part time pay and full time work office manager/secretary/volunteer coordinator/Dean assistant////////. I think you get the idea. Ann will be filling several roles. This is a huge addition for our church staff. I couldn't be more excited.
I love hiring someone who gave their life to Christ and was baptized at our church. Someone who has bought into the vision of 5 Point 110%. I do believe this is a God thing and I am pumped up about Ann. She does have one draw back, her husband. The Admiral Mike Durham. Just kidding. I love Mike Durham and think of him as a good friend. He has sat in a boat with me for hours and never caught a fish. (That is basically anyone who fishes with me) Mike and I have a great relationship and he loves this church dearly also.
Please let Mike & Ann Durham know just how excited you are about them becoming part of our staff. Ann probably wouldn't want me to say this, but I am anyway because I want you to know her heart. She has taken a HUGE pay cut. You have to admire someone that follows their heart and love for Christ verses their pocket book.
Welcome aboard Ann. Can't wait to see how God uses you!
