My former pastor Kevin Childs sent the following note out to his church this morning.  I literally copied and pasted it.  Read what Kevin told his people:

LOTS of great reports from this past Sunday.  We still have several new faces every week, and the majority of them say that they came because one of you invited them.  I know I've said it repeatedly, but NOTHING replaces the effectiveness of you sharing your faith ... and a personal invitation.  All the marketing and advertising in the world can't compare to you faithfully asking your unbelieving and/or unchurched friend to come with you on Sunday.  We're trying hard to do our part to provide a creative, non-threatening, non-boring environment where your friend will hear the truths that will change his or her life.  Keep up the great work!  I can't wait to see who you bring with you this Sunday.  I'd love to meet them personally.

I do believe my man has nailed it.  I agree with Kevin 110%.  We've tried tv commercials, newspaper ads, mailers, fliers through out town, radio commercials and a billboard.  None of these are as effective as you personally inviting your unchurched family and friends.  We see new faces every week and that's because you invite people.  Thank you and keep up the good job.

This Sunday we'll be doing something we've not yet done at 5 Point.  No poop, no snakes, no technical WOW factor, just something different that I believe everyone of you will enjoy and learn something.  But, this Sunday is geared to open your eyes and the eyes of the unchurched.  Please, invite like you've never invited before.  Pray for God to lay people on your heart and then respond.
