Decemebr 28, Thoughts on last Sunday
It has been an awesome week. Monday was great as 20 plus 5 Pointers helped feed the guys at Home With A Heart. We gave all of them underwear and t-shirts and then played some cards for a couple of hours. The men truly appreciated all we did. Thanks for all the help!
Tuesday was awesome! God has blessed the Herman clan beyond measure. We opened our presents and Deb made a wonderful breakfast. After wards Andrew, myself, Lawson and Curtis went to Pickens Country Club and walked 18 holes of golf. Great exercise and a chance to get out of the house. At 4:00 the feast was spread. WOW! We ate some kind of good. What a great way to celebrate Christmas.
Thoughts about last Sunday.
I haven't had a chance to write this week but as I finished this Sunday morning I wanted to share just how incredible last Sunday's worship was. We only had one service and it was packed. We celebrated the Lord's Supper. But, as usual, we did things a little different. Each family had the opportunity to come forward and celebrate as a family. I can't find in scripture where it says the preacher must lead the people. God really showed up during our worship time. I had numerous people tell me how much they enjoyed the service.
The greatest moment was when four adults gave their life to Christ. What an awesome gift for Jesus! My heart was about to beat out of my chest as I watched these individuals make the most important decision of their life.
I had been asking people to pray about what they could give last Sunday. We wanted to give the entire offering away to other ministries. I had been asking God for $10,000. We were close. We had our biggest offering thus far, $9,000. We gave Home with a heart $3,000 on Monday. The other will be distributed this week. What a great way to celebrate Jesus birthday, GIVING!
