December 18, Thoughts on Sunday
I know its been a few days. I apologize for my absence. I'm back in the saddle and ready to ride.
Thought God was all over our services again Sunday. I love Christmas music and enjoyed worship through Christmas songs. I've spoken with several people about the reVOLution series. Asked all of them one question, "did our people get it, love Jesus - serve others?" Every person told me it hit all of them between the eyes. My heart hurts for people who don't know Jesus, for those who do and life is awful right now. We can show Jesus love by serving others. Ask God to show you where you can best serve others.
I want to brag on 5 Point. You guys stepped up and helped a lot of children and adults in need. We helped 32 children to have a better Christmas. It was awesome to see the gifts pouring in Friday night. Susan and other representatives of Angel Tree picked up all the gifts Monday. We also gave away a bunch of coats to the children at Miracle Hill and some children at a local elementary school. A very special thank you to every single person who helped people have a better Christmas.
We still have some time to make a huge difference. Bring in those canned goods. Let's give away truckloads of food. If you're anything like us, you've got more than enough food at home. Don't forget this Sunday's offering will be given away. 100% of it - every dime. We've never had a $10,000 offering at 5 Point. I'm praying for God to convict your hearts and GIVE. Remember, this is our Christmas present to Jesus. It should be the most expensive gift we buy. And did I mention, every dime of it will go towards local ministries. In other words, we want to show the love of Jesus by serving others. Some of the ministries we'll be helping is Home with a heart, Mary's House, Miracle Hill AND HOPEFULLY OTHERS! That depends on YOU.
Lastly, I am excited about the twenty people helping me make Christmas Eve a better day for the guys at the Home With A Heart. We're cooking lunch and serving them. Giving all of them a gift, and then just hanging out after lunch. My prayer and desire is that these 18 guys can see the love of Jesus through us as we serve them.
