Novemebr 26 - Thoughts

I'm back.  I know I've been gone for a week, but I truly enjoyed getting away last week.  On Wednesday, Andrew and I played 36 holes of golf in Jenkins, Kentucky.  It was 68 degrees.  He beat me both times.  I hate losing to Andrew in anything.  Thursday morning I spent a bunch of time with God, praising him for His many blessings.  Our time together was very sweet.  I then headed to the gym to work out so I could eat, and eat I did.  Bonnie prepared a feast.  It was awesome.  Friday morning we headed home.  As I went outside to start the Navigator I was shocked to see snow pouring from the sky.  It was beautiful.  As we crossed over the mountains the snow continued to fall and the trees were covered.  Really hope we get some snow here this year.

Saturday morning I was back into the gym.  Swam 20 laps and worked out extremely hard.  Working off all those Thanksgiving calories.  Headed to the church to finish up everything for Sunday morning.  Thank you to those who were here decorating the church.  It looks great.

Saturday night was a special time because I was with friends watching the Tigers beat South Carolina.  It was truly a great evening.  Good food, good fellowship and the Gamecocks were beaten once again by the Tigers.  That is 9 victories over the past 11 years.  I'd call that total domination.  I didn't say one word to anyone Sunday morning.  I want to show all those Gamecock fans how to win with grace.

Sunday morning was a little different because Tim wasn't here.  It was tough, but we got through it.  Good having Tim back in the office this morning.  During worship of the second service I went into the children's theater to check on them.  I don't brag on Lawson and Michelle near enough.  What they do with our children is simply amazing.  I can guarantee you I didn't experience anything like it when I was a child.  If you've never seen our children worship you need to sit on the back row (so you won't bother anyone as you leave) and ease over and watch what is going on.  5 Point is growing and one of the reasons is what's taking place in the Kid Zone.  Thank you Lawson & Michelle for all you do.  A special thank you to all the adults who work so faithfully each week to make Kid Zone what it is.  We couldn't exist without you.

Today is Debbie's birthday.  She is _____ years old.  I know better!  We've been married 27 years and I love her more and more every day.  We were laying in bed last night watching a Lifetime movie (yes- I said Lifetime and it was actually pretty good) and I quietly thanked God for my precious wife.  She has endured Dean Herman for 29 years now.  We've moved close to a dozen times, had three children and now a pastor's wife.  Tomorrow I want to elaborate more about a pastor's wife and the role they play.

It's 5:00 and Michelle is cooking dinner for us.  Look forward to hanging out with the Clary's, but especially the Hud man!
