Novemebr 12 - Thoughts on Sunday
As we continue dealing with sex it's been encouraging to read the connect cards once again. Here are just some of the comments from yesterday:
* Great job - felt comfortable sitting with kids as you spoke.
* Burl did an awesome job. That took some guts.
* I'm so proud of our church for tackling this subject.
* Women are now asking questions about their sexual immorality
* Awseome, first time I've ever heard sex openly talked about in church.
* I really appreciate the honesty that the pastor uses to deal with a very real problem.
Do you hear the heart beat of these people? They are pleased that our church is willing to talk about a topic that is so relevant and real to our culture. I know many of you feel the same way. This Sunday is going to be a blast as we talk about keeping the flame in the bedroom. Title of Sunday's message, "The honeymoon ain't over."
The music was simply awesome Sunday. A big reason for that is Terry Wood. If you attend 5 Point on a regular basis you know that yesterday was Terry & Shannon's last Sunday with us. Please pray for them as they venture out into unchartered waters. Terry is becoming a music missionary. Good luck Terry and thank you for being a part of 5 Point, we're going to miss you on Sunday mornings.
Tim and I are meeting with someone tomorrow to begin working part time as a replacement for Terry. More info coming later as this progresses.
Tonight I'm leading a Bible study on the same topic as yesterday, sexual immorality. Looking forward to hanging out with the guys, eating a hot dog and digging into God's Word.
