October 18 - No place like home
If your 6'6" and weigh 290 pounds travel can be very tough. Sitting in an airplane for 6- 7 hours is exhausting. Add the three hours of lay over and the three hours I lost from time zone and it adds up to, "I'm wore out." But, it is so good to be home. My trip to see Grandma and other family out West couldn't have went any better. I was treated like a king, Sunday went great and my time with Grandma was sweet.
Taking a shower in my shower, sleeping (only 5 hours) in my bed with my wife and hugging Jacob this morning we're great. Never know just how much you miss your family until you get away for a while.
As I was finishing everything up for Sunday morning I went into the auditorium and prayed for our services. Realized just how much I missed 5 Point and it's people. Looking forward to worshiping and opening God's Word together. I believe God has something special in store for all of us as we look into, Calming the storm."
I had lunch with Perry Noble today. You might have heard of him. He is the pastor of a small church in Anderson. It is called New Spring and they run around 8,000 each week. As usual, he was very helpful. Our discussion dealt with how to run a church of 500 like it was a 1,000. He knows, he has been there. Some of his advice were already doing. Some dealt with things I'd never thought of and others were, "I knew that but just hadn't done it yet." Thank you Perry for being so willing to help us continue to grow. I'll give you his advice tomorrow. Gotta go work out now.
Get to keep Hud man tonight while Shell and Debbie are at the ladies Bible study. Me, Jacob and Hud hanging out. Boys night out.
