October 15 - Washington

I arrived in Walla Walla, Washington early Friday morning.  I came to see my Grandma most likely for the last time.  Spent a lot of time with her the past few days.  Saturday afternoon was our time together.  She showed me around her new assisted living apartment complex.  I think Grandma introduced me to 100 people.  She was so proud her South Carolina grand son was there to see her.  I spoke at Trinity Baptist church Sunday morning.  Grandma has abeen a member of this church forever.  Went extremely well.  On the inside it was somewhat emotional because I knew this was the last time Grandma would hear me teach.  We spent the remainder of the day at some of my relatives house grilling hamburgers.  Took Grandma back home around 5:00.  She was really tired.  Picking her up today at 10:00 today and going to visit my Dad's grave.  I look forward to it but dread it in a sense also.  I sure do miss my Dad and Mom.  Every time I'm with Grandma I think a lot about him.  After wards I promised Grandma I'd take her to her favorite restaurant for lunch.  First date I've had with another woman besides Debbie in a while  Think she'll understand.

I've enjoyed spending time with other family members also.  Played golf with my Uncle Bob & Aunt Naomi Friday, again today and hopefully tomorrow.  He is 72 and she is 70 and I'm yet to beat them.  Embarrassing to say I can't beat them, but today is my day.  I can feel it.

Saturday morning I walked with some deer hunters and watched the sun rise in the foothills of Washington.  Breath taking is all I can say.  Saw a bunch of deer and enjoyed God's beautiful art work.

I'll be heading home on Wednesday morning.  Much as I enjoy visiting with family on the West coast I sure do miss my bunch on the east coast.  Jacob turns 9 today.  Can't believe it.  Life is truly flying by.  Missed worship at 5 Point Sunday morning.  Already looking forward to this Sunday.
