September 17 - Thoughts about Sunday
OK! I know it's been a few days and I've been hammered about not blogging since last Friday. Allow me to apologize. My home computer has been down and that effected my blog time. But, I'm back and will try not to miss again.
For some reason God has been all over our services lately. Worship was awesome Sunday. Tim and the band did an incredible job leading us to the throne room of God. I want to be a rock star was about as real as it gets. I was blown away during the closing song, Amazing Grace; I could hear the hearts of people as they wept. Without asking, people were coming to the altar to spend time with God. We had several salvations and numerous commitments. Thank you Lord Jesus for moving in such a powerful way.
I want to share something that happened Sunday morning that has never happened to me before. Halfway through the message I felt as if the best thing was to finish and let the band play a couple of extra songs. The people were just staring at me with this blank look on their face. Hard to explain the way everyone was looking. I kid you not, I almost didn't finish.
As I walked into the foyer area where the counselors meet the people coming back I was amazed to see the majority of them in tears. All of them trying to describe what they were feeling as God spoke directly to each one. People came to speak to counselors and it was evident they were heart broken. After both services numerous people commented on how God spoke to them in a very personal way. Come to find out the blank look on everyone's face was God getting up in their grill. Thank you for speaking to us Lord Jesus in such a powerful and personal way.
We'll continue "I screwed up" this Sunday looking into restoring broken relationships. Continue to invite unchurched friends and family. Your doing a great job. I called a dozen visitors tonight and these are the ones who filled out the connect cards. Every one commented on how much they enjoyed the service and how friendly everyone was. Great job 5 Point.
