I've never blogged before but I know the world wants to know what runs through the mind of Dean Herman.  SO - here we go.

The past two weeks the Herman clan has been out of town and it was GOOD!  Our first week was in Cancun, Mexico.  By far, the best vacation I've ever had.  It was awesome!  All of us parasailed, snorkled, rode speed boats, laid on the beach and swam.  Andrew and I rode a jet ski and laughed until our sides (and rear ends) hurt.  God did a great job creating this breath taking place.

Last week I spoke at a summer camp in Southwest Virginia.  God really did some incredible stuff.  Numerous young people gave their life to Christ and only God knows how much sin was left on the altar.  Wednesday night I spoke on lust and sex and it broke lose.  We had a three hour service.  Even the summer camps counselors were getting right with God in this area of their life.
 

The two weeks away were really good for me.  It allowed me to unwind and spend time with my family.  AND, it revealed to me just how much I truly do love being the pastor of 5 Point Fellowship. 

I missed 5 Point dearly.  I missed worshipping with the band and all of you.  I missed opening God’s Word and teaching.  I missed being in my office and preparing and meeting with the staff on how to reach more people and do it in a very creative manner.  I just missed being here. 

So watch out 5 Point.  I am jacked up and ready to get the train rolling full speed ahead. 
I love Jesus, my family and this church.  My heart's desire is to serve all three with excellence!
